NelsonQuick Principals Earn Accolades

Debra and Jim were each honored by their respective universities with teaching excellence awards.

Debra was honored with the Outstanding MBA Faculty Teaching Award. This recognition comes specifically for her course in Developing Leadership Skills, which focuses on emotional competencies, conflict management, power and influence, teamwork, and other NelsonQuick Group topics. In the words of one of her nominees, "It's not only her in-depth knowledge and expertise in leadership that makes a difference; it's also her deep concern about making her class an exceptional learning experience that will elevate students to a higher level not only academically but also in real life."

Jim was honored with the Outstanding Honors College Faculty Award, which reflects his distinctive contributions in the Goolsby Leadership Academy over the past several years. Jim's teaching of leadership with a strong character, ethics, and spirit of personal integrity theme motivated the Goolsby Scholars in the Honors College to champion Jim's recognition as their most outstanding teacher. These same Goolsby Scholars and his colleagues successfully nominated Jim to the Academy of Distinguished Teachers for his sustained record of outstanding commitment to learning and ability to inspire students.
